I get asked this question frequently. Firstly, yo I get asked this question frequently.  Firstly, your bread should be ‘whole grain’. Don’t be mislead by labels that say multi-grain, 100% wheat, cracked wheat, stone-ground or seven-grain. These usually aren’t whole grain. The word ‘whole’ should always appear before the name of the grain, such as whole wheat, whole oats or whole rye and it should be the first ingredient listed. Brown bread or wholemeal varieties can be given their brown colour by using caramel food dye or molasses. Read the ingredient list! If avoiding glyphosate is also on your agenda, then buying organic is essential in Australia.  This is not an issue in Europe as spraying glyphosate on crops is banned 🥖.
